Social Bookmarking

I can see how the del.icou.os account could be usful in the workplace for compiling research done for easy access and being able to share with others in the same field. Definitely good to know about and another fact finding machine other that google. May be too confusing for the person at home who is just looking up info on a subject. Google would be better for that which is all that I need.

Wiki-Wiki

I can see how this could be helpful for the librarians to connect for ideas from all areas of Sno-Isle on one easy to use web-site. Events coordination would go a lot more smoothly. I like the idea of book reviews also. Even the site for information on a variety of subjects that can be edited by all librarians could come in handy.
Not something I would use in my job,but can see the advantages for planning.

You Tube, Hula and Fancast

Wow! I'd heard of YouTube of course ,which my kids use for fun and sometimes my displeasure at their choices. You can find pretty much anything you want and plenty you don't want too. My favorite video on funny cats is a must see. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUNmLuNdiL8
Hula- I can take or leave. Too much advertisement. But Fancast is fantastic! Great way to review shows and movies to see what's out there. Can also easily catch something I missed.
I may be spending a lot more time on the computer now!

Facebook

I now have an account in facebook but am not really comfortable with it. Don't think it's something that I'll be using but at least I made the attempt. Whewww!

Flickr??

Buzz, buzz, buzz. This was a lot harder than it sounded to transfer pictures but would probably have been easier is I'd actually signed up for an account. It is a great site for looking up pictures though and once I play with it, will probably come in handy.

Pandora

I love it! Pandora was so easy to sign up with and the selection of songs that they picked to personalize my station was just amazing! I will use this at home definitely. Tempting to sit and listen all night but work, you know, gets in the way.

Blog feeds

A little confusing getting there and when clicking on suggested feeds, now I have way too many! I'm sure it could be handy with a specific feed but will need more practice!

IM Chat

Okay, that wasn't so bad. Once I could get others to IM with me, it was kinda fun. Especially when Maron invited us to view her personal page and watch a hilarious video that we could comment on! Hopefully I can do this at home. Will be fun to talk with others at a faster pace than email without the phone that all listen into.
I loved getting paid for this fun half hour! Go Sno-Isle!

Facebook

A friend of mine recently joined Facebook and has asked me to sign up so we can share pictures and comments. I have shied away from this so far from fear of viruses and "putting myself out there". After reading Jennifers blog about this, I feel a little less fearful and may tread those waters soon!

Twilight series- so far...

Whew! Just finished the 3rd book in the Twilight series "Eclipse". Not as impressive as the first two books, but at least the "bad" vampire is out of the picture now. Jacob and Edward having formed a truce and seemingly on friendly terms seems a bit unbelievable though. Will Edward and Bella really get married now? Will she finally become a "bloodsucker"? What happens to Jacob- will he return from his flight? Guess I'll just have to wait for the final book to see. Hmmm... what number am I in line for that- 200 or so? Ah well, I'm sure there's some more books on the shelf to pass the time while I'm waiting.
